See some of Croatia’s most rugged and beautiful terrain on this adventurous, 2-day hiking trip. Depart in the morning by car from Zagreb and make your way to Croatia’s mountainous Gorski Kotar region, often called “the Green Lungs of Croatia” because of its thick forests. Your destination is the Vihoraski Put, one of the country’s most challenging and scenic hiking trails. See the famous White Rocks and the Samarian Rocks, enjoy a campfire dinner and overnight camping stay, and hike back in the morning. A car will take you back to Zagreb, where the tour ends.
Embark on this small-group, 2-day backpacking tour of some of Croatia’s most beautiful terrain at 8am. You’ll be picked up directly from your Zagreb accommodation and driven into the protected Gorski Kotar region, famous for its thick forests and rugged mountains.
First head to the Ratkovo shelter, where you’ll spend the night, before dropping off your things and embarking on the White Rocks Trail. Enjoy the spectacular views of its distinctive rock formations before continuing onwards to the 5-hour Vihoraski Trail, renowned as one of the most challenging hiking trails in the country. Head deeper into the wilderness, where you’ll have the chance to take a break in the Green Valley and trek through other nearby valleys. Afterwards, you’re in for a bit of technical climbing along the difficult Ljuska section of the trail. Be rewarded with beautiful views before arriving back to the Ratkovo shelter, where you’ll enjoy a meal cooked over the fire.
On the second day, eat breakfast at the Ratkovo shelter before packing up and hiking back along the easier Begova Trail. After a short walk, return to your vehicle, where you’ll be driven back to your Zagreb accommodation.
