The island of Hvar offers many original and hidden places, together with stunning views, like Pakleni and the neighbouring islands. Enjoy the spectacular views and the scenery of amazing Hvar. Get in touch with rural life of the island of Hvar and 3-course lunch/dinner in abandoned village.

Your tour begins at the French Fortress built by Napoleon’s troops, on St. Nicholas hill (which was used as a reconnaissance site and lookout) and has a scenic view of Hvar town, the Spanish Fortress, Pakleni and Vis islands. You will continue with a drive through the green and rural island of Hvar, passing through Brusje, where you will be able to walk through the Lavender fields, (seasonal options June - July).

Continue along an old island road "paved" with amazing views. Pass by perfect views of the island's deepest bays, and eventually reach the fascinating village of Velo Grablje founded in the 14th century. Explore the village's stone houses and courtyards as you admire the area architecture, walking the narrow streets as you absorb the settlement's timeless charms. Today the village is nearly abandoned, but a few permanent villagers remain. Although it was once a rich and prosperous place, famous for its good wine and olive oil production. Honey production was also well known in the village as well, together with lavender oil being the leading one in Europe of the time.

As you leave Velo Grablje, continue to the abandoned village of Malo Grablje and then finish the day with authentic Dalmatian lunch or dinner (depending on the time of day). A sample menu is below.

Your tour starts with a panoramic drive down the coast to the small seaside town of Cavtat. In Cavtat, your private guide will tell you some interesting facts about the town, whose history dates back to the 6th century BC. Cavtat boasts a lovely scenic promenade; take a walk along the seafront and have a cup of coffee in one of the many pretty cafés.

After Cavtat, your tour continues with a walking tour through the Old Town of Dubrovnik. See the Franciscan Monastery, containing a restored sculpture of the Pieta and a gorgeous cloister dating back to the 14th century. Or visit Sponza Palace, which now houses the State Archives. Other highlights on this tour include Orlando’s Column, the City Bell Tower, the Rector’s Palace and the Church of St Blaise, the city’s patron saint. Your guide will regale you with stories and facts about Dubrovnik and its history and will be more than happy to answer any questions you have.

Dubrovnik became the front line of this war in 1991 and for almost 8 months the town was besieged and constantly bombed.
On a request it can include a cable car ride to the Mountain Srđ over the city and a visit to the Homeland War Museum situated in the Fort Imperial on the top of the mountain. The additional attraction will be a fantastic panoramic view over the city and the surrounding area. Furthermore the tour is lead by a guide who has been in the city during the siege.
